It aims to preserve, transmit, and document the intertwined histories of the Perak Chinese Mining Association and the tin mining industry in British Malaya and Malaysia since the Association’s founding in 1936. It highlights the shared struggles, triumphs, and transformations that defined this remarkable chapter in our nation’s economic and communal development.

Part I: A Historical Overview of the Perak Chinese Mining Association revisits the crucial role tin mining played in Malaya’s modernization and economic growth, particularly through the efforts and contributions of Chinese miners in Perak. It explores how the Association acted as an essential intermediary between miners and authorities across different historical periods, including colonial rule, wartime upheavals, independence, and industrial transitions.

Part II: Biographies of the Presidents of the Perak Chinese Mining Association focuses on the life stories and leadership contributions of eleven presidents who guided the Association across decades.
